The 2026 season will consist of one huge event at Sun Valley.
We are holding one race as part of the 2026 NCW+ACT CycloCross Series.

Western Sydney CritCross

We will be racing circuits of the Penrith Paceway and Showground, including making use of the tunnel and carpark areas.
The paceway is a gravel surface with the showground areas being grass and the car park asphalt with a loose gravel over the top.
Gravel or CX bikes are recommended.

About NSW/ACT State Series Cyclocross Racing

Round 2 of the 2025 AusCycling NSW-ACT CX series is taking place at Sun Valley in the Blue Mountains, hosted by Western Sydney Mountain Bike Club.

Bikes and Tyres

If you’ve not entered a cyclocross event before, C Grade/Open may be for you – any bike is welcome, though we recommend a MTB, cyclocross or gravel bike.

For B Grade, any bike is welcome, however MTBs or flat bar bikes will be started in a separate wave, and will not be eligible for overall series points. CX or Gravel bikes are recommended, with 35mm tyres preferred in the spirit of CX, but wider tyres will be accepted.

For A Grade, must be CX or Gravel Bikes with a 35mm maximum for tyres strictly enforced.

Registration

Registration is ONLINE ONLY and you must have a valid AusCycling or One Day Event Licence. One Day Event Licences are available to be purchased at the time of registration through EntryBoss. Please note that only A, B, C and u17 receive points towards the NSW+ACT Series.

Sun Valley Reserve

The series will take place at Sun Valley Reserve, Sun Valley Road, Sun Valley NSW, 2777 (subject to change based on other location’s availability)

  • 9am – 10am – Registration & Course Practice Riders must be registered before course practice
  • 10am – 10:30am – Race 1 – 30 mins – C Grade Men, U17s, U15s & U13s Girls & Boys
  • 10:30am – 11am – Kids Race & Course Practice – Race 1 Presentations
  • 11am – 12pm – Race 2 50/40/30 mins – A, B & C Grade Women
  • 12pm – 1pm – Race 3 50/40 mins – A & B Grade Men
  • 1pm – 2pm – Race 2 & 3 – Presentations
  • 2pm – 3pm – Course Pack Down – Any riders able to assist would be greatly appreciated!

Race schedule may be subject to change, depending on entries and category participants.
