Member Protection & Child Safety

Our Commitment

Western Sydney Mountain Bike Club is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants, particularly children and young people. We have zero tolerance for abuse, harm, or neglect.

As an Auscycling-affiliated club, WSMTB operates under the National Integrity Framework, and all child safety and member protection matters are managed in accordance with Sport Integrity Australia’s guidelines and processes.

Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO)

The Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO) is the first point of contact for members with concerns about harassment, discrimination, bullying, or child safety. The MPIO provides confidential, impartial information about options and supports available but does not investigate complaints.

The MPIO operates independently of the club committee to ensure confidentiality for all members who seek guidance.

Raising a Concern or Complaint

If you have a concern about the safety or wellbeing of a member — including a child — or if you have experienced or witnessed harassment, discrimination, or bullying, you have two options:

Option 1 – Contact the MPIO Reach out to Chris directly for confidential guidance and information about the options available to you. The MPIO is not part of the committee and is there to support you impartially.

Option 2 – Report Directly to Sport Integrity Australia You can bypass the club process entirely and report your concern directly through the national complaints system:

National Integrity Framework

Western Sydney Mountain Bike Club follows the National Integrity Framework administered by Sport Integrity Australia. This framework sets out the standards and processes for handling complaints related to member protection, child safety, harassment, discrimination, and other integrity matters in sport.
